Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is dedicated to implementing programs of service that enhance the social, economic, and educational well-being of the local, national and international communities. Programs remain the heart of AKA. The size and scope of services provided to our communities have grown and significantly improve the quality of life for all who reside within our service areas.
The program theme for 2018-2022 is Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. The International Program includes five program targets that are designed to advance the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha with excellence and underscore our commitment to sustainable service.
The five program targets for 2018-2022 are:
1. HBCU for Life: A Call to Action
2. Women's Health and Wellness
3 Building Your Economic Leagacy
4. The Arts
5. Global Impact
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will expand its community presence as a result of these initiatives, which include International Community Impact Days and our signature enrichment program, ASCEND ℠ (hereafter referred to as CAP℠).
Zeta Chi Omega Chapter Longstanding Programs include:
ØTutoring students in Arlington, Virginia, all grades at the St. John Baptist Church every Monday (10+years) .
ØMentoring young girls every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at the Charles Houston Center (25 +years) .
ØProviding hot and hearty meals to shelter residences on a monthly basis (10+years) .
ØAnnual Luncheon Fashion Show to raise funds for scholarships (62nd Year)
ØAnnual Debutante Cotillion Leadership and Cultural Enrichment Program ( 61st Year)
