Target 1: HBCU  for Life: A Call to Action

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Chapters will promote and market Historically Black Colleges and Universities and encourage students to attend HBCUs as a  sustainability measure.

Zeta Chi Omega Chapter:

Promotes and markets HBCUs at the largest annual HBCU College festival on the east coast, hosted by Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

Supports at least 5 students annually with scholarships to attend HBCUs.

Donates over $10,000 annually to HBCUs directly and through corporate drives.

In 2019, through our charitable affiliate, the Ivy Foundation of Northern Virginia, Inc., the chapter provided approximately $40,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the Northern Virginia area. In 2018, the chapter hosted over 200 students for the NOVA STEM Summit, with 20 students receiving scholarships and internships.
