Target 4: The Arts! 


 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®Chapters will expose students to art enrichment and culture by focusing on visual and performing arts and by showcasing talent through the exploration of writers, entertainers and various other artists.  

Salute to the Harlem Renaissance will be launched to celebrate the contributions of African American artists during the Harlem Renaissance through student research and chapter sponsorship of student talent showcases.

The Salute to the Black Arts Movement will be unveiled and will focus on student research and celebration of African American artists during the Black Arts Movement.


Zeta Chi Omega Chapter:

Yearly, in conjunction with our charitable affiliate, The Ivy Foundation of Northern Virginia, the chapter provides debutantes (students) cultural enriching activities as part of the Cotillion Season:

An Etiquette Tea

A Day at the Kennedy Center – Alvin Ailey Performance

Dance instructions and practices sessions on the waltz and minuet.

In 2019, chapter hosted Project Step Out and Debutantes students to:

a Musical Amahl & the Night Visitors

A Motown Christmas performed by the students at Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts. 

The chapter will host a talent show “Harlem Live” for Alexandria, Virginia student- musicians, dancers, poets, photographers, artists in grades 3-12 in 2020!
